Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone! I finally have some Christmas pictures that I would like to share. It was so much fun to have Christmas as a little family even though Casen could probably have cared less. On Christmas Eve, Marc and I opened presents with him and he was really alert and active so I sat him on my lap and helped him get a hold of the paper. He had no idea what was going on but since his instinct is to grab onto something and then start moving, he actually tore the paper a little. We got it all on video. Every other time we opened presents he was too sleepy. We spent this Christmas with the Cobia side of the family because Marc's parents went to Utah. Then we had a second Christmas when they got back so it was lots of fun. We gots lots of yummy chocolates from our grandmas in Utah so I think that I am going to be fat from eating them all. I am also completely addicted to candy cane Hershey kisses and I have eaten multiple bags. I am definitely going to have to start a diet after the New Year! Marc was the most excited at Christmas because his parents bought us a Wii for Christmas. He wanted one so badly but we couldn't afford it. Technically the Wii is for the whole family but we can go over and use it whenever we want to and we can also bring it to our house if we ever wanted to. We have had a lot of fun playing it. I am actually good at Wii tennis so I feel pretty cool about that. Also this weekend we had the blessing of Todd and Saralyn's baby, Brooklyn. She was only 2 weeks old but Saralyn had family in town for the holidays that she wanted to be part of the blessing. Below is a picture from Christmas of Casen and Brooklyn. She still makes Casen look like such a giant. Carolyn set them up so that Casen's arm was around Brooklyn but it is hard to tell in this picture. The only other thing going on right now is that Casen has a cold. The good news is that when he is sick he likes to sleep through it so he has started sleeping through the night 8-9 hours. He slept 9 hours on Saturday night and we had to wake him up for church so he might have slept longer. The bad news is that we are not used to him sleeping longer so we keep waking up to check on him. He has also been coughing and so that wakes me up and makes me worry about him. He seems to be feeling better today but let's hope he still will sleep through the night like a good boy. We have really enjoyed the holiday season with our little family and we hope everyone else did as well. We are going to celebrate our New Year's eve by staying home, yeah!! We might stay up but I just might be too tired! We wish you all a wonderful New Year! Have a happy day!!

My Baby is Cute!

As a new mother, I think it is okay to think my baby is freakin cute and brag about it a little bit. I think I figured out how to add pictures into my post so I am going to post some recent pictures of my precious little baby so you can see what he has been up to!

Our ward had a really neat Christmas party last Friday. We went back into ancient Bethlehem and everyone had to dress up as if we lived back then. We had our own live nativity and musical program. Casen had the privilege of playing the baby Jesus. I made him some swaddling clothes out of fleece. He looked pretty cute and he was such a good boy.

Marc played the Angel Gabriel in the program and I was just a plain old angel. All the Young Women and the Young Women leaders dressed as angels and sang Angels We Have Heard on High. This is a picture of our angelic family!

So I think that I mentioned my baby is cute, now you know what I am talking about. This is a picture of him having tummy time. He really likes being on his tummy. When he was only 2 weeks old, he would just cry everytime we put him on this mat, now he likes it. I can't believe how strong he is getting. He holds himself up really well. Yesterday he rolled onto his side from his back. Marc and I were in the kitchen getting dinner and we cam back in and he was on his side. I turned him back on his back and then went back in the kitchen and when I came back, he was on his side again. I decided to try and get it on film so I pulled out the video camera and sure enough, he wouldn't budge. I think he might be a little camera shy. At least we got him to smile a few times for the video camera but that was about it.

Kissin cousins--well not quite. This is a picture of Casen with his brand new cousin, Brooklyn. For those of you who aren't aware, she is Todd and Saralyn's baby and she was born Dec 16. She is only 7 pounds, so she is literally half the weight of Casen and in this picture you can see she is half the size also. She makes Casen look like such a big boy even though he is still my little baby. She better watch out because I am sure that it will be no time before Casen learns from his daddy how to pick on his family members =) Marc is great at teasing and he has big plans for Casen to tease little Brooklyn.

For anyone who is still paying attention-Thanks! I am having a lot of fun being a new mommy and I am thinking of making a blog post about all the funny things I have learned about being a new mommy. I think it would be kinda funny so stay tuned and have a wonderful day!

I have no idea what I am doing!

Wow! So far this is fun and despite Marc telling me that no one will ever read my blog, 5 people already did!! Thanks guys! That will show him! Thanks for all the comments and I am excited to keep in touch with everyone! I still have no idea how to do this, thus the title of my blog. I will need to sit down in a week or so when things aren't so crazy and figure out how to do fun cute things like make a list of people I like and attach their blogs to mine. Right now I am sort of short on time because I have a few last minute Christmas things to get in the mail or they probably won't make it in time. I also have a very needy baby today that only seems to be happy if I am holding him. I am getting pretty good at typing with one hand though. Casen is normally pretty mild mannered but he has a bit of a cold right now which makes him want to snuggle and be held more than usual. The only other exciting thing about my life right now is that I got to see Mamma Mia last night. I had seen it once before a few years ago, but it was still a blast. My friend's hubby works for Mandalay Bay and he got some free tickets, so we had a girls night out. Marc watched the baby and I got to have some free time. I never knew how much I would cherish free and alone time. I love taking care of my baby so much, but it is great to have a break now and then! Thanks for being my friends and reading my blog and when I have more time I will write again and respond to some of your comments!

Have a happy delightful day!!

My Very First Blog!!

Well I guess I am joining the blogging world finally. Several people have told me that I should ever since I had my baby (I have noticed that people care a lot more about your life once you add kids). I was inspired today after looking at my sister's blog, reading Jessica's blog, and then seeing all the other people who Jess has on her blog faves. I like to have friends and I want to be better at keeping in touch, so here I go. I will probably make a profile with all my current info but here's a quick update. We had our first baby on Oct 1. His name is Casen Marc Cox and we love him so much (obviously). He is so cute and so much fun to just look at. I also enjoy watching Marc being a daddy. He is so good at it and he can't wait to get home from work. Marc still works at Deseret Book and he is on a break from school while I finish. I have one more semester left to complete my master's in school counseling. I can't wait to finally be done with school-I have been going for 20 years now. I will be posting some pictures and I will write some more later!
